We’re delighted to welcome Tasha Szweda to the SEP Hydrographic team as a Graduate Hydrographic Surveyor.

Tasha joined SEP Hydrographic in October 2026, in her first role since university. She studied Marine Biology at Newcastle University before moving into hydrography with an MSc at the University of Plymouth, where her dissertation used MBES survey data to build a habitat map of the Western Channel Observatory’s long-term biodiversity monitoring site.

I wanted to gain experience with nearshore data collection and learn how best to work in a dynamic environment. I’d never lived in the North West before, so I thought it might be fun to explore a new area.

Tasha was drawn to the career by the chance to collect environmental data with real-world applications.

What energises her most is the variety: different roles from one day to the next, different types of survey, and collecting data in different environments for different purposes.

We look forward to seeing Tasha grow her career with SEP Hydrographic and contribute to delivering high-quality nearshore hydrographic survey services to our clients.
