SEP Hydrographic is seeking a dedicated Geophysicist to join our integrated team.

Along with core responsibilities, you'll occasionally take on Party Chief and Team Leader roles, helping to advance our procedures and techniques to exceed client expectations.

  • Position: Geophysicist
  • Location: Bromborough, Wirral
  • Salary: Dependent upon Experience
  • Reporting To: Senior Geophysicist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup and operation of survey equipment and software.
  • Ensure high-quality data collection, QC, processing, and reporting as per company standards.
  • Review and understand project documentation and scopes of work.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of company procedures and method statements.
  • Uphold SEP's technical procedures, including data logging and QC checks.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager within the project environment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to SEP HSEQ procedures and policies, including conducting toolbox talks.
  • Manage data and client information with utmost confidentiality.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Take on occasional Party Chief and Team Leader roles.
  • Aid senior management in ensuring best practices within the department.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train Interns, graduates, and team members.
  • Lead in-house training sessions.
  • Support the commercial department in their activities.
  • Exhibit professionalism, safety, and respect at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • University Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
  • Full, clean Driving License.
  • OPITO BOSIET Training.
  • Offshore Medical and Fit to Train Certificate.
  • RYA Powerboat level 2 or higher (desirable).
  • Superior IT skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of HSE.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic nature.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and problem-solving acumen.
  • A team-centric attitude with top-notch time management skills.
